There is a fly and drive vacation that you can do, if you have at least two weeks and like driving, that will provide you with the best of South Africa. Instead of taking the usual flightstraight into Cape Town from the Johannesburg international, fly into Springbok. Her e you can rent an automobile and start driving down the N7. Your holidays to South Africa can continue with a couple of evening's stop in Cape Town. From Springbok to Cape Town it's five hundred and sixty three kilometers so if you do a leisurely one hundred kilometers a day, you'll be in Cape Town before your first week is over. Here there is really plenty to do and see. In the center of town you can go to Government Avenue (bring peanuts for the squirrels), the Natural History Museum and the V&A Waterfront. Sea Point provides a beautiful seafront promenade then Camps Bay has a very elegant beach, coffee shops and dining establishments. You can also go up Table Mountain using the cable-way, or opt for outings to the university town of Stellenbosch and to Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens.

When you have finally had your fair share of Cape Town, you can do a day trip to Cape Point and then go off to the Garden Route on the eastern coast. The primary freeway taking you up the coastline is called the N2 and you will come across some beautiful towns such as Mossel Bay, Knysna, Oudtshoorn and Plettenberg Bay.

The Outeniqua and Tsitsikamma Mountains are rich in Cape Fynbos and indigenous forests. They house some three hundred species of birds and comprise a selection of environments, including wetlands. This is a nature enthusiast's paradise due to the fact that the ecosystem is protected by 10 different nature reserves. You can also jump onto Route 62 from here likewise referred to as the Wine Route and taste some outstanding wines which are exported worldwide. Route 62 will take you all the way to PE, a total of 850 kilometers from Cape Town. From here you can catch another flight which will take you to your international departure or maybe to a safari in the Kruger National Park.
