Vacations Of The Rich & Famous: Mendocino Wineries

By Philip Vonwrede

Mendocino wineries consume California-grown grapes into fine wine varietals. The Medocino County is the biggest region found in California and also delights in a vineyard-friendly climate. Being separated by the Medocino range, this wine region thrives in being subjected to 2 climatic zones. Medocino is the wine center of California, wherein in grapes are grown and harvested organically. At least of all vineyards found there adhere to this practice as well, making Medocino the chief promoter of organic farming. Due to this fact alone, writers and reporters flock to this area to learn more about it.

Built from ground up by Maxine and Vern Boltz, Toulouse Vineyard is a leading advocate of locally grown organic grapes. They are very environment conscious, thus would only accept grapes that was grown and harvested in the most sustainable way there is now. The owners started out as fruit growers and since then, had an amazing journey to becoming winemakers in Mendocino. They only release a limited number of wine cases per year and with this, they are able to control the quality that they put out to the people. Among the fine wine varietals, Toulouse Vineyard intend to carry the best Pinot Noir in the world.

You cant go wrong with a great Pinot Noir at Goldeneye Winery. Set right next to the migration passage of the famed Goldeneye Duck and the Anderson Valley, Goldeneye Winery has prided themselves in being one of the best to produce the tastiest Pinot Noir wines in the whole wide world. Some other wine varietals that have gotten praise are the 2011 Goldeneye Anderson valley Vin Gris, the 2010 Goldeneye Anderson valley Pinot Noir and lots more.

The most quaint winery I've ever experienced is Husch Vineyards Winery. The family owned Husch Vineyards Winery is rather small but one of the oldest Mendocino Wineries, located in Anderson valley appellation, 2 hours drive from San Francisco in Northern California. Under the direction of Husch family, third generation, the winery now produces 22 unique, different wines and 6 of them enjoy a national wide distribution. Their tasting room also contains other varieties of special wine selections and when it comes to Husch vineyards, quality in wine production is given top priority. With their own managed and maintained vineyards, they are able to offer high quality wine consistently.

If you would like to see some wonderful sights, road trips and drinking champagne, then Roederer Estate Winery should be your number one stop. Every moment spent there is worth your while with their spacious wine tasting room. Even though the Anderson wine valley is smaller compared to other wine counties, every guest there is promised to have the best time.

Esterlina Vineyard makes amazing Merlots! Maintained and supervised by top wine makers Lyn Krausmann and Erick Sterling, Esterlina Vineyards & Winery has definitely earned it spot in Mendocino Wineries. They have an assortment of wine drink that includes Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay, Zinfadel, Pinot Noir and Riesling.
