The Washington Square Music Festival 2011 starts in July and will have concerts every Tuesday evening at 8:00 pm. This concert series will run from July through August. Come join us for a night of gorgeous classical and jazz music with musical director Lutz Rath. This year, the Washington Square Musical Festival will celebrate 53 years of free concerts and is the second oldest free classical music series in New York. The concerts are found in front of the Holley Statue in the heart of Washington Square. In the unfortunate event of rain, concerts are moved to St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church.
NYLaughs ' Laughter in the Park 2011
NyLaughs ' Laughter in the Park is a free comedy series that runs for 11 weeks, beginning August 14, 2011, from 2:00-4:00 pm. Location is at Holley Plaza. Patrons should enter through Washington Square west and walk east.
Mommy/Daddy and Me Photography Workshop
The New York City Photo Safari (newyorkcityphotosafari.com) will be putting together a fun filled photo workshop for Dads, Moms and kids. This workshop will happen October 2, 2011 from 9:00-11:00 am. Learn how to work on your photography abilities by taking photos of the encircling environment and taking family stills. You're sure to have a great time at this special afternoon with your child or youngsters. Classes are $150. (for one parent and one youth) and this price has a professional quality 8X10 of your best image. You must bring your own digital camera and, if at all possible, it is advisable to bring two cameras - one for you and one for your child. The Photography Workshop is at 5th Avenue and Washington Square North, Manhattan.
